I really enjoy animation cel collecting because I love to collect art and make art in all honesty--since I am an oil painter. I have also had the privilege to meet those who created the art I do own [non-anime] and I believe in the preservation of animation as historical and pictoral evidence to identify the society during that time period and identify, coorelate, and analyze their social concerns with "fresh eyes". Like SME, I collect only art that stirs my emotions or captures a piece of my personality. I'd like to think that each piece reflects a piece of myself like a mirror.
Unfortunately, that may mean a higher end taste in cels if you've looked at my wishlist---but thats me--I know who I am and what I like. I dont plan on taking huge risks in this hobby at this time-- I pursue with caution, conscience, and, most importantly, patience. *Ja ne*
